A year ago I uploaded ep1 of SECOND RATE SERVICE- which has been my main focus for the past few months. This thing was in development for over two years, lots of rewriting, rerecording, reanimating, etc. I'm pretty proud of how it came out, but I'm prouder of ep2 and the direction we're taking the show moving forward. Ep3 is coming soon with more to come after that. I'm sure a lot of people wrote off the pilot as another "20somethings working minimum wage" but I see the store more as a backdrop or a catalyst for stories, rather than being a quirky slice of life or whatever. I'm going for the writing of Simpsons with the visual flair of Powerpuff Girls.
As cool as it is to see Newgrounds and "indie animation" flourishing these past couple years, I wanted to make something that embodied the kind of thing that would have inspired me if I found it online 10 years ago. Something that's just funny, no in-your-face lore, made mostly by one guy in his bedroom with no budget. Like the good old days! That said, I'd really like to thank Nate, Tony, and Jacob for their contributions to writing, sound design, and music respectively. It shaped the show a lot and they really get what I'm going for.
